Former Mexican President Vicente Fox was punished for celebrating a wedding despite pandemic restrictions

Former Mexican President Vicente Fox (2000-2006) was fined by the City Council of San Francisco del Rincón, Guanajuato state (center) for celebrating a wedding at the Fox Center despite the restrictions imposed by the pandemic from coronavirus banning it .

The city council received a complaint on Saturday night about the celebration of a wedding at the Fox Center, which, according to the Mexican newspaper “El Universal”, was being led by the former president and his wife Marta Sahagún.

Local officials went to the location and confirmed that there was indeed a wedding taking place, for which they made a record of the violation, which resulted in a fine of more than 25,000 pesos (about 945 euros).
