Claudia Sheinbaum , head of the Government of Mexico City, announced that 50 thousand loans, 10 thousand pesos will be given to micro-companies so that they can face the health crisis that caused the outbreak of the Covid-19 coronavirus.
Through a press conference, Sheinbaum highlighted that a total of 500 million pesos will be invested from the Fund for Social Development (Fondeso). These credits will have 0% interest, four months grace, to be paid in two years.
Credits may be requested starting next Monday, March 30 through the Fondeso microsite .
This measure is in addition to the welfare measures of the Government of Mexico, so it works hand in hand with the Federal Government through the Ministry of the Economy to avoid duplication of credits.
Likewise, 600 thousand families from the capital will be supported through the “My scholarship to start” program, which will give an advance of 500 pesos per boy and girl starting next week and until April 1.
The head of government affirmed that her cabinet will give 1,500 pesos of support for vulnerable groups, such as indigenous artisans, who want to return to their states.
