August 1, 2020

At least 16 people, including fifteen children, have been killed in the floods in the Kooz Kunar district in Nangarhar province in eastern Afghanistan, and four others have been injured.

Nangarhar’s government spokesman, Attaulá Jogyani, told the Tolo network in Afghanistan that the floods were due to heavy rains that occurred late Friday.

Jogyani has said that the emergency response teams have already moved to the affected area to help the victims, their families, and the other victims, as the storm has damaged dozens of homes.
