Flavio Bolsonaro, son of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, had a positive coronavirus test this Tuesday, several of his advisors reported.
According to information from the G1 news portal, the president’s son is “isolated and has been taking chloroquine and azithromycin since Monday.” Flavio would not have shown any symptoms at the moment.
From the start, President Bolsonaro and his entourage were strong proponents of chloroquine as a treatment for COVID-19, despite the lack of scientific evidence of its effectiveness.
In addition to Flavio, other family members have tested positive for coronavirus in the past, including the president, first lady Michele Bolsonaro, and another of his sons, Jair Renan. All got over the disease after noticing mild symptoms.
