Five people die in an attack by suspected jihadists in northern Mozambique

At least five people were killed in an attack carried out on Saturday by suspected jihadists in the Mozambican province of Cabo Delgado in the north of the African country, sources from the Carta de Mozambique news portal confirmed on Tuesday.

These sources have detailed that the attack against the city of Litamanda in the Macomia district took place, where around ten houses were also set on fire.

The attackers, who have not yet been identified, wore army uniforms that allowed them to enter the city without arousing suspicion and without the authorities having decided on the matter.

In the past few weeks there have been a number of attacks attributed to jihadists in this area of ​​the African country, which, in addition to numerous kidnappings and material damage, resulted in several dozen deaths.
