At least five people have died this Sunday from several landslides that have been caused by heavy rains in Central South Korea in the past few hours and have also caused rail traffic to cease.
According to the South Korean news agency Yonhap, one person died after a landslide buried a poultry farm in Anseong village, 70 kilometers south of the capital Seoul.
Similarly, a woman died in Chungju after another landslide buried a shed and caused an explosion, while another woman died in the same place hours later in a similar incident.
In addition, one man drowned in Emseong while another died after being buried by another landslide in Jecheon. Authorities have said five other people are missing, including a fireman.
