Local civil society sources have reported extensively that militiamen broke into the village of Lodha and beheaded five civilians. They also seriously injured two people and set fire to almost 50 houses, according to the Congolese news portal Actualité.

“The military came a little late to intervene,” said Charité Banza from civil society. The attacked city welcomes internally displaced people who have entered the area due to violence in other areas of Djugu territory.
