Every fifth citizen living in Moscow, the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic in Russia, tested positive for viral antibodies in health authority screening tests, the city council of the Russian capital reports.
“Today, 19.9 percent of Moscow’s antibodies to the corona virus,” said Deputy Mayor of the Russian capital, Anastasia Rakova, head of health policy in Moscow, said in a statement.
More than 90,000 residents of Moscow were tested for coronavirus antibodies as part of a local program to determine the extent of the outbreak in the Russian capital. Rakova said a third of people who tested positive for coronavirus antibodies may have been infected in the past month.
The Russian capital withdrew from detention three weeks ago, arguing that the percentage of infections dropped markedly after two months in prison.
