The Egyptian government registered another 910 cases of coronavirus this Wednesday, the maximum daily number of infections, confirming the upward trend in recent weeks that has prompted the authorities to consider using the pandemic detention.
The spokesman for the Egyptian Ministry of Health, Jaled Megahed, has stated that the total number of cases is 19,666, while 19 people have died in the last 24 hours, with whom the country exceeds the threshold of 800 died and reached 816.
Megahed has also pointed out that 178 people have recovered on the last day, so the total number of people who have overcome COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, is 5,205, according to the Egyptian newspaper. “Al Ahram”.
According to a spokesman for the Ministry of Health, the 910 positives from the last 24 hours exceed the previous daily maximum, which was registered on Tuesday with 789 cases. The country is one of the most affected by the pandemic on the African continent.
