Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry has assured that Cairo, through its mediation teams, will do everything possible to consolidate the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, which came into force early Friday.
To this end, and in statements to MBC television, the Minister has confirmed the sending of two delegations, one to Tel Aviv and one to the Palestinian Territories.
All this under the supervision of the Egyptian President Abdelfatá al Sisi, who until the ceasefire was reached “was informed first hand about all efforts and contacts to reduce tensions”, so the statements of ‘Al Ahram’.
As reported by the spokesman for the Egyptian presidency, Basam Rady, Egypt has sent a convoy of 130 aid trucks to the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip in the past few hours.
The trucks are loaded with 2,500 tons of food, medicines, baby food, clothing and household appliances, the spokesman reported.
