Egypt confirms the upward trend in coronavirus cases and exceeds the 30,000 infection mark

The Egyptian government this Friday confirmed its upward trend in the number of coronavirus cases, which has been increasing for several weeks, and has exceeded the barrier of 30,000 infections during the day since the pandemic began.

The Egyptian Ministry of Health spokesman Jaled Megahed said 1,348 cases and 30 deaths have been confirmed in the last 24 hours, a total of 31,115 and 1,116, respectively.

He also noted that on the last day, 402 people were recovering from COVID-19, which according to the Egyptian newspaper ‘Al Ahram’ has already helped 8,158 people to overcome the disease caused by the new coronavirus.

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafá Madbuly warned on Monday that the country would see an increase in coronavirus cases in the coming days, adding that the authorities expect this trend to continue for about two weeks.
