Ecuador’s Emergency Operational Committee (COE) this Friday completed a series of restrictive measures that will rule the country as part of the COVID-19 pandemic before the end of the state of emergency, which expires this Sunday.
Among the restrictive measures, the implementation of PCR tests for anyone wishing to enter Ecuador by air, land or sea should be highlighted. All persons must present the negative result of the test to the Ministry of Health, which was issued no later than ten days before their arrival in the country.
In addition, as the Director of the Risk Secretariat, Rommel Salazar, reports, the mandatory preventive isolation will continue as well as the personal suspension of classes and the closure of land borders and seaports.
On the other hand, the return to personal work in public institutions will be gradual and it will be the authorities of each institution that will give priority to teleworking modality wherever possible.
