The Ecuadorian Ministry of Health registered a new record of coronavirus cases last day, adding 2,249 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 129,892 cases.
Authorities have also reported a total of 7,375 confirmed deaths, although another 3,796 deaths that could be related to COVID-19 disease are still under investigation.
The number of patients who have recovered has increased to 102,852, of whom 18,180 received medical attention. There are still 1,052 people admitted, 360 of whom have a reserved forecast.
Ecuador has recorded cases of coronavirus in each of the 24 provinces it is divided into. Pichincha in the north of the country is the hardest hit region with 35,515 cases, of which 32,543 were registered in Quito, its capital and the state’s capital.
