Ecuador suspended the work of the Joint Task Force, a group responsible for supporting the fight against the coronavirus, in Guayas province this Thursday. In late March, Ecuador became infected due to the high level of infection by the Covid-19 in this area.
“The President (Lenín Moreno) has decided by decree to culminate in the mission responsible for the Joint Task Force of the Special Security Zone,” announced Vice President Otto Sonnenholzner.
As previously explained, the decision was made due to the decrease in the number of deaths and emergencies in the region’s health centers due to the coronavirus.
“This is based on numbers that show us, for example, that Guayaquil’s death rates in the past four days have been very close to the numbers we had before the pandemic,” he said. “Emergency sales have dropped more than 80 percent,” he continued.
