Ecuador has again registered almost a thousand additional cases of COVID-19 and is already approaching 90,000 positive cases, according to the latest balance published by the Latin American country’s Ministry of Health.
According to the data presented, health officials found 903 new infected people this Wednesday, bringing the global number to 88,866. In addition, 5,847 people have died of COVID-19 in Ecuador.
Guayas remains the hardest hit province in Ecuador by the coronavirus as there are a total of 17,669 cases. Behind are Pichincha with 15,542 and Manabí with 6,757.
In addition, the Ecuadorian Ministry of Health has indicated that 59,344 people have already recovered from the disease while 11,824 have been discharged from hospital. However, 830 people remain in stable condition in the hospital and 378 with a reserved prognosis.
