The Ministry of Health of Ecuador has confirmed more than 800 new cases of coronavirus this Tuesday, so the Latin American country already has more than 63,000 infections.
In particular, the balance of the Ecuadorian health authorities confirms 865 additional COVID-19 cases that have increased the country’s balance to 63,245 infections. In addition, the Ecuadorian health authorities have recorded 4,873 coronavirus deaths.
According to provinces, with 16,116 cases, Guayas remains the Ecuadorian region with the highest number of infections. Health officials have diagnosed 10 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, according to the balance collected by local newspaper ‘El Comercio’.
This Tuesday, Pichincha, the province in which the Ecuadorian capital Quito is located, achieved more than 9,000 positive results. A total of 9,191,197 more are registered than on the previous day. Quito is the most pandemic-affected canton in the province, accumulating 8,346 of all cases that have increased significantly since June 3, when the city pushed for de-escalation.
