The Israelis came out in about thirty cities across the country this Thursday evening to express their outrage over the rape of a girl under the age of 16 by more than 30 men in a hotel in Eliat town last week.
The demonstrations took place in 33 cities across the country, including Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Haifa and the city of Eliat itself, a tourist area near the Red Sea.
After a preliminary investigation, the minor traveled with a friend to the spa town, where she met several friends of her friend. According to the victim, she and her partner started drinking alcohol, and at one point the teenager went to one of the rooms to use the bathroom. In this room she said she was raped by dozens of men.
Footage from the hotel’s security cameras showed a line of men lining the hallway, waiting for their turn to rape the girl.
