If you are a beginner or struggling to get the hours of the day going, you need to get rid of these 7 things that waste your time and slow your growth.

1. Social networks

According to Business Today, using social media at work reduces productivity by 13 percent. With so much at stake, entrepreneurs cannot afford to waste their time on the black holes of Facebook or Twitter.

Delete these applications from your phone and only visit them from your computer, unless you need to be on social networks for work. This doesn’t stop you from suddenly spending time surfing the networks, but it does allow you to look at the incoming emails instead of searching your timeline.

2nd morning without planning

Planning your day only takes a few minutes. If you don’t, you are always one step behind what you should. Take a moment to write down the things you need to do that day and sort the list by priority. Start with the biggest challenges (your brain works best in the morning). At lunchtime, you have already done more things in a morning than an average person has done all day.

3. Multitasking

At this point, almost everyone knows that people cannot do multiple things at the same time. But regardless of this great truth, many entrepreneurs keep trying.

Slow it down so you can focus on one thing at a time. Email is one of the main distractors. Instead of letting these messages interrupt your workflow, schedule your inbox to be checked twice a day. This is very easy to do in Google Calendar. This way, you can prevent messages from accumulating without affecting the rest of your work.

4. Almost all sessions

Most meetings are a waste of time, especially for founders who have a million more important things to do. Never attend a meeting to learn about something. You can do this in an email. Ideally, only go to meetings for which you need feedback. And yet, if you can send someone in your place, unless you are the only person in the world who can give the necessary guidance.

s tend to be obsessed with the future. They want to think about what their businesses will look like next year, what problems may arise, and how to avoid these situations.

Predicting is incredible, but unnecessary worry can prevent you from completing the tasks that require your attention today. Plan time to work out future plans and needs (because no one wants to sail without seeing), and then spend the rest of your time focusing on what’s ahead.

6. Business trips

The boss has to fly around the world, right? Now it shouldn’t! Most business trips, like most meetings, are best delegated to the company manager.

Travel to important events, but leave everything else to your employees. If you really want to know what’s going on outside your office walls, ask the person you send to bring detailed notes about everything they see. Just make sure you don’t offend a good prospect by not seeing it. If your presence makes a difference, go, but use the transfer time to push your slopes.

7. Redundant work

Founders love to compete to see who works more, but the truth is that working more doesn’t always mean more. Stanford University researchers found that too much work is not only inefficient, it can also harm the job itself. If you work too many nights, you can undo the progress you made during the day.

Find out when to switch off and concentrate on life outside of the office. Leave a note about what you need to do the next day, then go to life and play. It may sound counterproductive, but an afternoon in the park can do a lot more for your business than your presence in the office.
