The Florida Department of Health has confirmed 188 new coronavirus deaths, a daily death record, and more than 10,300 additional cases in the last 24 hours on Saturday. In this context, the Disney World theme park in Orlando reopened its doors after 160 days of closure.
The previous record for daily deaths was recorded on July 9 with 120 deaths.
In addition to these deaths, the coronavirus pandemic has left a total of 4,197 deaths in the state. The 10,360 new cases bring the total number of infections to around 254,000.
This balance coincides with the opening of the major Disney World theme park in Orlando for the first time in 160 days.
Disney has warned that “in any public place where people are present, there is an inherent risk of being exposed to COVID-19,” and has told its visitors that “they voluntarily assume all of the risks associated with the park,” such as reported on his website.
