The President of the Constituent Assembly of Venezuela and “number two” of the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, reported this Thursday that he tested positive for COVID-19.
“Dear colleagues, I agree with the information that I have tested positive for COVID-19 after carrying out the appropriate tests,” she announced via her account on the social network Twitter.
Cabello, who stated that he has “high morale”, added that he is already isolated and “is following the specified treatment”. He also thanked the “good wishes”.
In this context, the President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, has sent Cabello “all the solidarity” of his family and “the people of Venezuela”. “I am sure that with your moral and spiritual strength you will go through these days of treatment and recovery,” he added before confirming that “he is already resting” and “well”.
In addition, in a VTV intervention, he stated that Cabello believed he was suffering from a “severe allergy with a little headache”, but the president recommended that he undergo a diagnostic test and “it was done quickly”.
