The president of the Constituent Assembly of Venezuela and “number two” of the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, was discharged from hospital this Thursday after testing positive for COVID-19.
Cabello himself transmitted it through a message shared on the social network Twitter, where he thanked “the prayers” of the Venezuelan people and the company “in this first month of struggle”. He also thanked the medical and nursing staff and his family.
Cabello reported that he had contracted COVID-19 on July 9, stating that he was “of high morale” at the time. To date, Venezuela has confirmed more than 22,000 coronavirus cases, including more than 190 deaths.
