May 17, 2020

Members of the “yellow vests” movement have returned to the streets of several French cities this Saturday despite the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus and despite the ban on gatherings of more than ten people.

Demonstrators have gathered in cities such as Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Montpellier or Strasbourg, although concentrations have not increased as much as before the pandemic due to restrictions.

In the French capital, demonstrators gathered at the Place de la République, so the police had to act and, according to the French press, two people were arrested.

In other cities, such as Toulose, traders have called on citizens to protest the “yellow vests” to prevent them from holding rallies on Saturdays that indicate the damage they are doing to retailers, according to the La Dépêche newspaper. .
