Anyone who’s seen the latest documentary series from Demi lovato in Youtube, Dance with the devil knows the 28-year-old singer and actor went through hell and lived to tell the story. And in the nearly three years since a traumatic drug overdose that partially blinded her, Lovato has made a concerted effort to regain her life and career and break her through a lens of self-control and discovery.
It’s not always been flawless (see last month’s yogurt store fiasco), and it can be incredibly awkward to witness your rehab in real time on a variety of social media platforms (160 million total followers combined between Twitter and Instagram only) in his new weekly podcast 4D with Demi Lovato. But it’s extraordinary to see the star-studded child advocate who has overcome eating disorders, addiction, and abuse get naked in a way that is inextricably linked to his career resurgence.

To this end, Lovato announced today They are identified as non-binary gender and change their pronouns to them. “This came about after a lot of healing and self-reflection,” his tweet explained. “I’m still learning and stepping inside and I’m not pretending to be an expert or a spokesman. If I share this with you, I now have another level of vulnerability.”

His testimony comes two weeks after the premiere of 4D and it’s practically a temptation to download the second episode, released this morning that features Lovato’s gender identity and exploration with the Alok artist.
And since we’ve just connected ourselves to the podcast and will subsequently share that story with our millions of followers on social media, Lovato’s intention to inspire a virtuous cycle of provocative dialogue and dynamic entrepreneurship clearly won the day.
It is unknown if Froyo brands plan to advertise 4D.
