Dash has handed over the development work for version v0.17 of its platform to the testnet phaseAccording to an announcement on Wednesday. In July, Cointelegraph reported that the Dash Core Group wanted to start testing the platform before the end of the year.
As part of the announcement Dash found that the test network environment is five times larger than Evonetwhich is almost entirely owned by the Dash Core Group. According to Dana Alibrandi, Dash Product Manager:
“This is the largest implementation of the Dash platform to date, so this release is the most important milestone in realizing Dash’s long-term vision for mainstream adoption.”
By detailing the log updates included in the v0.17 update, Dash revealed that it fixed an infinite credit issue vulnerability. Version v0.17 too Contains features to improve customer support.
With v0.17 now on testnet, Dash According to version 0.18, the next item is on the agenda. This new update is planned for late January or early February It will include further protocol improvements for thin clients as well as improved functionality for iOS and Android applications within the Dash platform.
Dash also announced the launch of DashPay for the public alpha phase. DashPay is a social crypto payment wallet with Human readable addresses through the name service layer of the Dash platform .
While some other crypto companies offer human readable usernames for transactions within a closed wallet ecosystem, Dash previously claimed that its service is native on its own blockchain network.
