Conte testifies before prosecutors investigating the management of the pandemic in Bergamo

Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte made a statement this Friday for three hours before the prosecutor investigated how to deal with the pandemic in the province of Bergamo (north), specifically explaining why the municipalities were not declared a “red zone”. Minister of the Interior Luciana Lamorgese made a statement to Conte for two hours, as did the President of the Higher Institute of Health (ISS), Silvio Brusaferro, according to the AdnKronos agency.

The Bergamo public prosecutor is trying to clarify the chain of decisions that resulted in Alzano and Nembro not being declared a “red zone” at the end of February and then the closure of all of Lombardy, in which the province is located, on 7 September was imposed due to the rapid spread of the coronavirus.
