Conte before the new phase in Italy: “Returning to normality is like learning to walk again”

May 18, 2020

Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte on Monday stressed the need to gradually lift the restrictive measures to contain the coronavirus pandemic, comparing the return to normality in the country with “relearning how to do it”.

Italy starts on Monday with phase 2 of the de-escalation, which provides for the reopening of a large part of the shops, restaurants and bars and, among other things, enables citizens to move freely in their respective regions.

Conte published a letter in the Leggo newspaper this Monday, stressing that “the country is moving cautiously and orderly according to government orders.”
