Congress starts the procedures for the appointment of the new Interim President of Peru

The Congress of Peru voted in an extraordinary plenary session this Sunday with 120 votes and one against the resignation of former President Manuel Merino, who took office on November 9 after the dismissal of his predecessor for corruption. Martín Vizcarra, initiating the process of appointing the new head of state, who will be in office temporarily until April 11, the date of the elections.
