The Palestinian authorities confirmed the first coronavirus death in the Gaza Strip on Saturday after several days of increases in the number of infections.
The deceased was identified as a 77-year-old woman from the Jan Yunis governorate who, according to the Ministry of Health, died during her quarantine at Rafá Hospital in the south of the enclave near Egypt.
With this death, there are already five fatal victims of the disease in the Palestinian Territories, according to the ministry, which was collected by the official Wafa news agency.
On a positive note, the Ministry has not identified any other cases of coronavirus in the areas in the past 24 hours. So far there are a total of 602 infections, of which 132 are active, with 466 recoveries.
