Colombia has exceeded 400,000 cases of coronavirus in the past few hours, with around 13,000 new positives reported in one day, confirming the upward trend in the contagion curve in the country already one of the hardest hit in the world.
The Ministry of Health has reported that there were 12,830 new cases and an additional 321 deaths recorded in those 24 hours, representing 410,453 infected people and 13,475 deaths.
In addition, health officials have indicated that of the total confirmed cases, 165,698 are still active, while 230,427 patients have overcome COVID-19, 8,942 of them last day.
In the past few weeks, Colombia has entered the top ten countries hardest hit by the world’s coronavirus pandemic. It topped Iran first and then Chile, which is now ranked eighth on the ‘World.
