More than 22,000 people have died of COVID-19 in Colombia, which, according to the Colombian Ministry of Health, has already infected almost 687,000 people in the country.
In particular, the latest health authorities’ record shows that with the 236 deaths recorded in the past 24 hours, the number of deaths from COVID-19 in the Latin American nation has reached 22,053.
In terms of the number of confirmed positive results, the Colombian Ministry of Health has reported a total of 686,856, 7,343 more than the previous day. 232,408 of these are in Bogotá, the Colombian region hardest hit by the pandemic. After Bogotá, Atlántico follow with 65,429 positives and Valle del Cauca with 51,415 positives.
On the other hand, the Colombian health authorities have confirmed that 11,323 more people have managed to recover from COVID-19. The number of recovered cases worldwide is 552,885 while 110,473 cases are still classified as active.
