The Colombian Ministry of Health has counted a total of 433,805 cases of COVID-19 and 14,145 deaths as of this Thursday. This is the day that the mayor of Bogotá decided to close seven cities in the capital due to the rebound in cases.
The latest record from health officials reflects the registration of 11,286 new cases of coronavirus in the country, as well as the deaths of an additional 308 people. The number of genes is already 250,494 after 10,709 patients were discharged.
Bogotá Mayor Claudia López has finally decided to continue the detention measures despite initially not considering expanding the quarantine aimed at the capital region of Colombia based on recent figures showing an increase in cases in the capital most affected by the pandemic.
Bogotá has registered 149,944 infections so far, well ahead of Atlántico’s departments with 59,797; or Antioquia with 57,360.
