The Colombian State Department reiterated this Thursday its “absolute rejection” of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro’s “false” allegations of Colombia’s alleged involvement in Colombia’s alleged naval invasion of La Guaira’s Venezuelan coastline as part of Operation Gideon to overthrow.

“We are drawing the international community’s attention to the fact that this regime insists on involving the Colombian authorities in measures that are not related to international law,” said the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement that insisted that it was a country “that respects international law and never supports activities outside the country.”

He defended that the position of the Colombian executive was “to lead, together with several countries, the return to democracy and the full validity of freedoms in Venezuela based on diplomacy and compliance with international law”.
