It is also examining “the versions that show that the officials themselves took equipment and goods because they did not pay their salaries”. However, Colombia has stated that it has asked the police to “step up surveillance at the site.”
The State Department has said it has “rejected” the “destruction” of Colombia’s Puerto Ordaz facilities. With this in mind, he made it clear that “since diplomatic relations with Nicolás Maduro’s regime broke,” the security of his facilities in the Caribbean country “has been guaranteed by a private company”.
