The Colombian Ministry of Health reported this Monday that the country already has nearly 155,000 cases of coronavirus, with nearly 5,500 people killed as a result of the disease.
In particular, Colombia has confirmed a total of 3,832 new cases of COVID-19 after the balance offered by health authorities in the last 24 hours, so that the global balance has increased to 154,277 positives. Having confirmed the 148 deaths this Monday, the coronavirus death toll in Colombia is now 5,455.
The balance offered by the Colombian Ministry of Health has shown that a total of 65,809 people have already recovered from the disease, 2,358 in the last 24 hours. According to the health authorities, 82,681 cases of COVID-19 are still active.
The president, Iván Duque, has indicated in the daily Prevention and Action Program, which deals with the situation of the pandemic in the Latin American country, that the numbers relating to the disease “continue to improve”, and has repeatedly called for protection.
In this context, Colombian Health Minister Fernando Ruiz highlighted that the number of beds in intensive care units related to the pandemic has increased by 40 percent.
