Colombia hit 445,000 cases of coronavirus this Friday by adding more than 11,000 new positives in one day. This is evident from the latest official balance from the Ministry of Health.
The agency has reported that the number of cases in particular has risen to 445,111, of which 14,492 people have died from the pandemic, with 347 more in the past 24 hours.
Colombian health officials have said that 10,802 more people have recovered after overcoming the coronavirus, a number that climbs to 261,296. There are currently 168,394 active cases in the country.
Bogotá has confirmed 154,452 infections as of Friday and is consolidated as the hardest-hit department across the country at 60,134, well ahead of Atlántico. and Antioquia with 59,122.
The mayor of Bogotá, Claudia López, finally decided on Thursday to continue the detention measures, although she did not initially consider the possibility of extending the quarantine aimed at the capital.
