Colombian President Iván Duque announced this Tuesday that the quarantine would be extended until May 31, while the health emergency as part of the measures remaining in force until August 31 in the country was decided by Casa Nariño to keep pace new corona virus pandemic.

Duque said that a new phase of quarantine would begin in June, requiring “collective intelligence” and “more discipline” as well as cooperation between the other departmental authorities. Depending on the characteristics of each region, economic activity is gradually recovering.
In return, the Colombian president has announced that the health emergency will remain in effect until August 31, three months longer than the first scheduled date, with the aim of being alert to possible new outbreaks and being able to coordinate new institutional measures.
