Colombia topped the 7,000 coronavirus pandemic death toll this Tuesday, a number that has reached more than 210,000 after the balance offered by the country’s health authorities has been updated.
In particular, Colombia has had 7,166 deaths so far after confirming 237 in the past 24 hours. A further 7,033 were found for the cases this Tuesday, which has increased the worldwide number of the Latin American country to 211,038 positives.
Bogotá is the most affected by the pandemic in Colombia, with more than 67,843 people infected. Mayor Claudia López announced on Tuesday a new date for the “sectoral” quarantine in the region. Finally, it starts this Thursday and runs until August 14th.
The “sectorized” quarantine implies that the free movement of people and vehicles is completely restricted, but is not applied uniformly throughout the area, but that the cities rotate.
