Colombia broke the barrier of 700,000 people infected with COVID-19 this Friday, a number that has hit more than 22,500 deaths from the disease, according to the Latin American country’s Ministry of Health.
In particular, health officials have diagnosed 7,424 additional positive results, bringing Colombia’s global balance to 702,088 cases of COVID-19.
Bogotá remains the most affected region of Colombia by the pandemic, with 236,313 people infected. Behind her are Atlántico with 65,631 and Valle del Cauca with 52,559.
In terms of the number of deaths, the Colombian Ministry of Health has indicated that the country already has 22,518, 242 more than the previous day.
In Colombia, 13,215 people have recovered from COVID-19, a total of 582,694. However, 95,398 cases are still classified as active.
