The Colombian Ministry of Health this Wednesday confirmed 10,142 new positive results from coronavirus and 295 deaths for a total of 572,270 accumulated cases and 18,184 deaths.
Most of the cases recorded in the past 24 hours originated in Bogotá. The capital has recorded 4,176 new positive results, which are included in the 199,324 positive results already diagnosed.
The mayor of Bogotá, Claudia López, has already stated that on the eve of the lifting of the strict quarantine throughout the city on September 1, the so-called “new normal” will be in force in the capital until December.
On the flip side, health officials have reported the recovery of 11,651 patients in the last case, of which there are already 407,121 people who have managed to overcome the disease, although there are still 145,794 active cases across the country.
In terms of the departments hardest hit by the pandemic, Antioquia has amassed 74,796 cases in the north-west of the country. while Atlántico in the north are 63,430; and the Valle del Cauca to the southwest, which has posted 44,694 positive results to date.
