- The Cisco Mexico engineering team developed an application that facilitates communication between doctors, patients and family members in an emergency
- The application makes it easier for the medical areas of the hospital stay to communicate with the support areas to process inquiries that optimize the medical care process.
- The Cisco ecosystem has joined this effort and will provide the tablets needed to communicate with medical staff.
Cisco Mexico is working closely with Ismael Cosío Villegas’ National Institute for Respiratory Diseases (INER) to provide them with the IT infrastructure needed to convert the hospital to address the COVID-19 pandemic. INER is the most important research center for respiratory diseases in the country and a highly specialized hospital in the region.
Cisco supports with the solutions Cisco Webex, Cisco Webex Teams, App Dynamics and the Cisco Meraki family for WLAN, switching, security and system managers, which make it possible to increase the connectivity that the medical facility needs in their daily work and more , now that it is the pandemic.
“At Cisco we have worked to provide the IT support INER needed to help with the hospital transition by providing the network equipment to enable the medical team to continue their work and communicating with patients and families in this critical one Phase.” says Isidro Quintana, CEO of Cisco Mexico.
In addition, the Cisco Mexico engineering team developed an application using the Cisco Webex and CiscoWebex teams that integrates the functionality of interface programmability applications that enable communication between doctors, patients, and family members.
The application is designed to:
Establish doctor-doctor communication. Due to the restricted freedom of movement that doctors can have in the detention area for infected patients, the application enables a faster exchange of information and files.
Medical Report to a Family Member: The application facilitates communication between doctors and patient families via voice and video, thus providing a remote medical report.
Televisit: the application enables remote communication by voice and video between patients and their families.
Telediagnosis: remote interaction between patients discharged from the hospital and medical staff to monitor their development.
To establish communication with family members and graduate patients, they can use their own cell phones without any pre-installed software, just an internet connection.
The IT infrastructure in which Cisco works together supports the entire medical sector and enables application support within the institute.
Likewise, Cisco and its ecosystem will provide INER tablets with Cisco Webex, Cisco Webex Teams and the application that enables the above communication installed.
