China confirmed 12 new cases of COVID-19 from overseas this Tuesday, compared to the eight verified the previous day while registering no new locally transmitted infection.
According to the Chinese Ministry of Health, four of the 12 imported cases were diagnosed in Sichuan, two in Shanghai and Fujian, and one in Zhejiang, Canton, Yunnan and Shaanxi.
The positive results from outside China have risen to 2,665, while the Asian country has confirmed a total of 85,214 people infected with COVID-19. The number of deaths remains at 4,634.
In addition, 11 people were discharged from the hospital this Tuesday after recovering from the disease in China, although 143 continue to receive medical care. Overall, the Chinese health authorities put the number of those recovered at 80,437.
After all, 6,576 people who had close contact with an infected person are under medical observation, 569 fewer than the previous day.
