The Chinese Ministry of Health has slightly increased the balance of new cases of coronavirus, confirming 34 in the last 24 hours, of which 29 were local, in addition to 74 asymptomatic.
In particular, 20 of the new local transmission cases in the Xinjiang region, home of the Uyghur Muslim minority, were discovered after the authorities decided to close their capital, Urumqi, due to an increase in infections. The rest of the new cases of local transmission, nine, were discovered in Liaoning Province.
There were five new positives from abroad, two from Guangdong, two from Shanghai and one from Inner Mongolia.
As of this Saturday, China has confirmed a total of 2,034 foreign infections, while the worldwide number of infected has increased to 83,784. The number of deaths from COVID-19 remains stable at 4,634.
