China registers five imported COVID-19 cases in Shanghai and Sichuan

The Chinese Ministry of Health reported on Friday that five new imported cases of COVID-19 were registered, four in Shanghai and one in Sichuan province in the south-west of the country.

Health authorities have indicated that no new cases of local transmission have been diagnosed. The total number of positives is now 83,027, while the number of deceased is again 4,634.

Eight people were released on Thursday. Overall, authorities have highlighted that 78,327 people have been released after the virus has been overcome, while 66 continue to be treated.

As of Thursday, China has confirmed 1,768 imported cases of coronavirus. Of these, 1,707 have already passed, but 61 remain in the hospital.
