The Chinese Ministry of Health reported 40 new cases of coronavirus on Tuesday, 27 of which were discovered in Beijing after the new outbreak of infections that had already occurred in a wholesale market in Fengtai District in the southwest of the capital. It has 107 infections since Thursday As a result, the authorities have already launched a plan to run 90,000 tests a day.

In return, the government of the capital has ordered the closure of a total of 21 residential areas near the market and another center for basic food items in the Haidian district north of Fengtai, where this is also the case. New cases have been registered.

The director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Gao Fu, has reported that the genetic sequencing and analysis of virus samples has been completed and work is ongoing to track the origin of the outbreak, according to the South China Morning Post .

In total, the authorities have confirmed 32 new cases of locally transmitted coronavirus. In addition to those in Beijing, there are four more in Hubei Province and one in Sichuan. On the other hand, eight come from abroad, so the total number of infections is 83,221. The number of deaths has remained at 4,634.
