The Chinese Ministry of Health confirmed on Monday that the numbers for imported and locally transmitted cases in the Xinjiang region, home to the Uyghur Muslim minority, continue to show similar values to the previous hours.
A little less than a month ago, authorities decided to shut down the capital of Xinjiang, Urumqi, in western China, amid a marked upswing that has so far infected 567 people, although 223 have already managed to overcome the disease.
In total, China has registered 44 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours. Add 31 newly imported cases to the 13 in Xinjiang. Of these, 9 were discovered in Shaanxi Province, another eight in Shanghai, another six in Shandong and two in Guangzhou and Gansu and one in Hebei, Heilongjiang and Zhejiang.
With these new data, China’s balance has risen to 84,712 cases of coronavirus, while 2,200 positives have already been found from abroad, of which 2,046 were able to overcome the disease.
