The Chinese Ministry of Health this Thursday confirmed a slight rebound in imported cases compared to the declines seen in previous days, representing 22 new cases, while the situation remains stable in the Xinjiang region, home to the Uighur Muslim minority the last eight positives.
A little less than a month ago, authorities decided to close the capital of Xinjiang, Urumqi, in western China, due to a significant upswing that has so far infected 464 people, despite 351 having already managed to overcome the disease.
In total, China has registered 30 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours. 22 newly imported cases need to be added to the eight in Xinjiang. Of these, 16 were counted in Shanghai, five in Shaanxi and one in Sichuan.
With these new data, China’s balance has risen to 84,786 cases of coronavirus, while 2,249 positive results have already been verified from abroad, of which 2,075 were able to overcome the disease.
