The Chinese Ministry of Health lowered the balance of new coronavirus cases on Saturday, confirming only 45 new positive results, compared to 127 the previous day, although most were local and found in the Xinjiang region.
According to the Chinese health authorities, Xinjiang, home of the Uyghur Muslim minority, has registered 31 new COVID-19 infections after local authorities decided two weeks ago to close their capital, Urumqi, after an increase in infections.
The rest of the eight positive local transfer positives were found in Liaoning. China has reviewed six imported cases in the past 24 hours, four in Shanghai and two in Guangdong. As of Friday, the Chinese Ministry of Health confirmed 2,069 imported cases, while the global estimate for the Asian country is now 84,337 infected.
In addition, the Chinese health authorities have registered 23 new cases of asymptomatic corona viruses, eleven of which came from abroad. In total, China reported 252 asymptomatic cases, 99 from outside the country.
