China has announced the closure of Xinfadi, Beijing’s largest wholesale market, due to a new outbreak of locally transmitted infections among workers and those close to it.
Health authorities have confirmed that new cases of local transmission in the country were registered in this market in the Chinese capital on Thursday and Friday.
All market employees must undergo a test to detect COVID-19, as the market regulation office and the health commission of the Fengtai District where it is located have made a statement.
In addition, they have decided to set up special locations for the sale of vegetables and fruit to ensure product supply. The market has an area of 112 hectares and 1,500 employees work in it.
