North Korea proposed on Monday to resume talks with the US Administration at the end of September, with a view to retaking contacts that remain frozen since the failed February summit between their respective leaders, Kim Jong Un and Donald Trump.

North Korean Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Choe Son Hui, raised this new appointment in a statement released by the KCNA agency. “We want to talk about all the issues we have discussed so far with the United States at the time and place we agree,” he said.

One of the opportunities that had been considered to resume contacts was the imminent celebration of the UN General Assembly, but North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho will not finally attend. Last year, Ri met taking advantage of this appointment with the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo.
