The Chinese Ministry of Health reported on Friday that thirteen other cases of locally transmitted coronavirus have been confirmed in the Xinjiang region, in addition to the 43 asymptomatic cases, a much higher number than this type of positive confirmed in recent days.
Xinjiang is the province where the Uyghur Muslim minority lives and the authorities have ordered the closure of their capital, Urumqi, after an increase in infections.
In total, China has found 21 cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours. In addition to the thirteen in Xinjiang, there are two other ones broadcast locally in Liaoning Province and six from abroad, five in Guangdong and one in Shanghai.
China’s equilibrium is 83,750 people infected with COVID-19. A total of 2,029 cases come from abroad. The deaths from COVID-19 in the Asian country remain stable at 4,634.
On the other hand, 78,873 people were released in China after their recovery. In contrast, 243 continue to receive medical care, twelve of them in severe condition.
